Ketamine Treatments
A New Approach to Treatment-Resistant Depression
Millions of Americans deal with depression, and many of them have major depressive disorder (MDD). For about one-third of those with MDD, traditional antidepressants just don’t work. This is called treatment-resistant depression (TRD), and finding the right treatment can be very hard.
What Is Ketamine?
Ketamine is gaining ground as a promising treatment for some major depression cases. Because of its rapid action, Ketamine can play a role in treating mental health problems. Ketamine was previously used as a pediatric anesthetic, an effective drug for fighting various mental health conditions. It works differently in your brain compared to other antidepressant medications, which takes about 4-8 weeks for them to provide minimal relief because they have to build up in our system to change brain chemistry. But Ketamine almost immediately amends the neurotransmitter activity in the brain. With its ability to provide quick and lasting relief, Ketamine has been called the most important breakthrough in the treatment of depression to come along in recent memory.

Esketamine Treatments
A New Approach to Treatment-Resistant Depression.
Millions of Americans live with depression, and for many, traditional antidepressants don’t bring the relief they need. About one-third of individuals with major depressive disorder (MDD) experience what’s known as treatment-resistant depression (TRD). In these cases, finding an effective treatment can feel overwhelming—but there is hope. Esketamine (Spravato®) is a fast-acting, FDA-approved option that’s bringing real relief to people who haven’t responded to conventional medications.
What Is Esketamine?
Esketamine is a medication derived from ketamine and is administered as a nasal spray in a controlled medical setting. It works on different receptors in the brain than traditional antidepressants, targeting the glutamate system to rapidly improve symptoms of depression. Unlike standard medications that can take weeks to show effects, Esketamine often begins working within hours or days.
Approved by the FDA, Esketamine is specifically indicated for treatment-resistant depression and depression with suicidal thoughts, and it must be used alongside an oral antidepressant under clinical supervision.
Esketamine Treatment for Mental Health
At Stat Health Medical, Esketamine therapy is individualized for every patient. All treatments are delivered in a quiet, private room under supervision by our trained providers. Each patient is monitored closely during the 2-hour observation period post-administration, and vital signs and mood responses are carefully tracked. We provide a warm, calming atmosphere and professional support throughout your treatment journey.
Conditions We Treat
Our Esketamine nasal spray therapy is used in the treatment of:
• Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD)
• Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
• Suicidal ideation associated with depression
• Severe depressive episodes not responding to standard treatments
Esketamine Therapy Can Be Very Helpful
Esketamine offers a transformative opportunity for those who have not found relief with other options. At Stat Health Medical, our commitment extends beyond administration. Our team supports each patient with education, emotional guidance, and a deep understanding of how to make the most of this breakthrough treatment. We believe true healing is not only about the medicine—it’s also about the people helping you through the process.
What’s the difference?
The biggest differences between Spravato and IV ketamine are how they’re taken and insurance coverage. Spravato is a self-administered nasal spray used under supervision at a certified clinic, while IV ketamine is administered through an IV. Spravato is usually taken twice a week for four weeks, then once a week or every other week, depending on how well it’s working. IV ketamine is typically given in six sessions over two to three weeks, followed by maintenance treatments as needed. Both treatments work fast, but IV ketamine may take effect even quicker, while Spravato follows a structured, long-term approach with FDA approval.
